In your opinion, what do you think the role of the critique, as it's described in this chapter, could be in a class like ours?
the role of a critique is described as a day to evaluate and discuss works of art in a group it is often really terrifying for artists because they have become comfortable with what they have been creating. I agree it can be stressful; you thought your were done and then all of a sudden you have all this other work to do, but critiques can be very helpful and more often they work in the artist favor to make an even better work of art.
According to this chapter and your past experiences, how can you get the most out of a critique of your own work?
You should not take the things people say personally or you won't get though it. Explain your intentions and where you are trying to go with the piece then you should listen and then decide what ideas to take and which ones to leave as is.
How can you be a helpful participant in your classmates' critiques?
Do not attack their work, give them suggestions and ideas to lead them in a direction to add or change their work so they are even happier with it.
